Designed by the internationally revered, South African-based design firm Fox Browne Creative, The Overlook is comprised of three bedrooms and welcomes groups of up to six to enjoy their stay, unwinding in the natural beauty of Cowhorn’s estate.
The home overlooks the entire vineyard and garden with stunning and expansive views.
Artfully designed with neutral tones and a variety of textures, The Overlook features a mix of shapes and graphics inspired by Africa and classic Western furniture silhouettes.
Guests can indulge in meals prepared by the winery’s Chef Tim Payne, partake in private barrel tastings from Winemaker Vince Vidrine himself and tour Cowhorn’s extensive library selection.
A stay also offers guests the opportunity to experience Cowhorn Kitchen & Wine, our new restaurant in downtown Jacksonville. CKW simultaneously illustrates the interconnectedness between the land, food, wine and guests, and curates an experience for patrons.

From Cowhorn’s Executive Chef Tim Payne – who also leads the culinary program at the vineyard and serves as the property’s director of food & garden – the lunch and dinner menus will offer produce-forward dishes including creative starters, fresh salads, housemade pasta and entrees. We also partner with some of the best ranchers, purveyors, and artists from around Oregon to showcase these dishes. From our hand-fired ceramics by Notary in Portland, to the mouth-blown water glasses from Gary Bodker, we are commited to showcasing some of the best this state has to offer.
